31 Bernama Staff Receive Excellence Award

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) — Thirty-one Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) staff received the Excellence Service Award 2014 at the Communication and Multimedia Ministry (KKMM) level here today.

Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek presented the award in the form of a certificate of appreciation and Premium Savings certificate to the recipients and those from seven other departments and agencies under KKMM.

A total of 686 personnel of various levels received the award for their dedication and commitment in carrying out their duties during throughout last year.

Bernama staff who received the award were journalists Bashariah Zainuddin and Lizawati Bahanan of Bernama.com unit, journalist Hamdan Ismail of Langkawi bureau, journalist Rudy Rukimin Rambli of Sarawak bureau and journalist Siti Salwa Sha’ari of Pahang bureau.

Other recipients were Melaka bureau chief Fadzli Ramli, journalists Balkhis [email protected] and Nur Adila Abdul Wahab of Penang bureau, journalist Nurqalbi Mohd Reda of Selangor bureau, journalist Norsyafawati Ab Wahab of Putrajaya bureau and feature writer Sakini Mohd Said.

Journalist Wong Cheng Hau of Mandarin news desk, journalist Nur Natasha Aida Ismail of crime news desk and photographers Mohamad Huzaini Md Daud, Mohd Hafizie Mahamad Shabudin, Nur Ain Shafinaz Talib, Shafiqah Fadzil and Zulkarnain Kamarudin.

Other staff were Mohd Nadzli Zainal Abidin, Sharil Nizam Mohd Sharif, Abas Othman, Kamalfikri Makrom, Mohd Suffian Juraimi, Mohd Tadzman Utuh Tang, Nooru Ermizan Coree, Nooryuhaida Yusof, Norazura Daud, Dyg Siti Normah Abg Bolhassan, Amral Ibrahim and Mohd Nur Hadith Zaini.

Ahmad Shabery, in his speech, said the main challenge and task of KKMM staff was to provide understanding on issues that caused confusion among the people.

He said issues such as 1Malaysia Development Berhad, national debt rate and Goods and Services Tax (GST) had attracted the attention of the people as they were confused.

“This matter should be noted as clarification on the actual situation needed to be clearly explained to all,” he said.

Also present at the event were KKMM secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Sharifah Zaharah Syed Ahmad, Bernama general manager Datuk Zulkefli Salleh and heads of departments and agencies under KKMM.
