A cow, famed for its affectionate behaviour, sacrificed for Aidiladha

CHANGLUN: The cow that went viral for its unusual behaviour, placing its fore legs on its owner’s shoulders from behind, was slaughtered for Aidiladha celebration at Asun Mosque this morning.

Giving up the animal was a huge sacrifice for Faridah Lebai Abdullah, 61, who had looked after ‘Che Ah’ since it was born.

Faridah loved Che Ah like a family member and it was kept at the house compound instead at a barn.

According to Faridah’s son-in-law, Mohd Zaidi Desa, 35, Che Ah and another cow belonging to his mother-in-law Rayyan were docile when they were put in the lorry to be transported to the mosque to be sacrificed.

They were also fed few slices of bread by Faridah for the last time before she sent them to the lorry.

“My mother-in-law told them to behave during the sacrificial ritual. She was very sad seeing the cows leave the house but did not regret making the decision as the meat of the animals will be given to poor and needy Muslims,” he said when met.

He added that almost 200kg meat from the two cows was distributed.
