SHAH ALAM, March 24 (Bernama) — Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang should be given a chance to explain why he had violated Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) common policy framework on the hudud law.
Mohamed Azmin, who is Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president, said Abdul Hadi had acted unilaterally when he tabled a private member’s bill to allow hudud’s implementation in the current parliament sitting.
“I think Abdul Hadi must be present at the Pakatan Rakyat Supreme Council meeting to explain the (Hudud) issues addressed by DAP central committee and PKR before this.
“This is important as the majority of PAS leaders wants Pakatan Rakyat to be strengthened as any misunderstandiung (among component parties) will cause a rift in Pakatan.
“The strength of PR is based on discussions, consensus and consultations,” he told reporters when met after launching the Selangor hijrah programme at the State Secretariat building Tuesday.
Asked whether PKR will act as a mediator to resolve the Hudud issue between DAP and PAS, Mohamed Azmin said PKR had always played the mediator role in Pakatan over the past 15 years.
