Businessman Shot Dead During Robbery In Bachok

BACHOK, Feb 5 (Bernama) — A businessman was killed while his daughter was wounded after being shot during a robbery involving three masked men in their shop opposite Sekolah Kebangsaan Beris Lalang here, Thursday.

Bachok district police chief, DSP Abdul Hamid Che Ahmad said Mustaffar Sidek, 52, was shot in the abdomen and thigh and was confirmed dead at 7.40pm while on the way to Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) Kubang Kerian, Kota Baharu.

The victim’s daughter Ainul Wahida, 18, was shot on the right knee and was sent to the same hospital for treatment was was now reported to be in stable condition, Abdul Hamid said here when contacted Thursday night.

He said that in the incident at 5.45pm, the victim’s wife Norhaizan Mat Zin, 45, and a 28-year-old employee who were in the shop were not harmed.
