BANGKOK, Aug 4 (Bernama) — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived here for a two-day working visit, which is aimed at strengthening the already close ties between the two countries.
His arrival at the Don Mueang Airport at 4pm (local time) in an official aircraft was received by Malaysia’s ambassador to Thailand Datuk Nazirah Hussain and other senior embassy officers.
Zahid who is also the Home Minister will have a packed schedule tomorrow, beginning with a meeting with his counterpart Wissanu Krea-ngam at the Government House.
The deputy prime minister will also receive a courtesy call from Thailand’s Labour Minister Gen Sirichai Distakul at his official hotel in the afternoon.
After performing the Friday prayers, the Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a meeting with Thailand’s other deputy prime minister who is also the Defence Minister, Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, at the Defence Ministry.
Zahid will meet members of the Malaysian media before departing home.
