MARAN Feb 28 (Bernama) — The Human Resources Ministry has extended the expiry date for free Social Security Organisation (Socso) health screening voucher until this December.
Its deputy minister Datuk Seri Ismail Abdul Muttalib said the extension was needed as many employees who received the voucher had yet to undergo the health screenings.
“In 2014, we extended it until the end of the year, but the number which registered was very low…not even half of the targeted 1.9 million depositors, with only 421,888 people using it,” he said.
Ismail was speaking to reporters after presenting donations of health equipment worth RM6,000 to Ismadi Ismail, 41, who was paralysed after an accident last year at Felda Sungai Nerek, here.
Also present were Pahang Socso Director Mohd Shahar Ismail and Temerloh Socso branch chairman Mohamad Haron Othman.
