The Year Of The Dog got off to a great start at Resorts World Genting, as more than 300,000 guests visited the highland resort over three days from the eve to second day of Chinese New Year.

This year’s celebrations were graced by three special performances staged at the High Street, Symphony Stage and Avenue Stage spaces.

The 8 Golden Lion Dance show features thrilling acrobatic moves while the Prosperity God takes the stage in the RWG Choy San Yeh and Blossom Fairies show. Meanwhile, The Prosperity of 9 dog dance show features nine dog mascots.

Leading up to the Lunar New Year was a lively reunion dinner at the Genting International Convention Centre. Singers Maria Cordero, Germano Guilherme and Tsai Chin serenaded guests with a setlist of traditional festive songs and evergreen favourites.

On the second day of Chinese New Year, a special lion dance parade marched through Resorts World Genting bringing cheer to guests, which then culminated in a spectacular
acrobatic show.

The festivities will continue throughout the Chinese New Year period. Hong Kong actor and singer Gallen Lo Ka Leung will be performing at the Arena of Stars on March 4. Celebratory firework displays will also be put on at the Genting Grand Hotel Flag Poles.

Visitors to the resort can also enjoy the latest movies at the newly opened Bona Cinemas. The cinema,  which has a modern retro and new urban vibe, is equipped with the Dolby Atmos sound system.
