HO CHI MINH CITY, March 10 (Bernama) – Ho Chi Minh and Rotterdam cities on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a cooperative programme on climate change for the 2015-2018 period.

The MoU was signed by HCM City People’s Committee chairman Le Hoang Quan and Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

The pact aims to maintain and strengthen existing cooperation between the two cities in climate change adaptation over the next three years.

Both cities will work to organise exchanges between their sectors, agencies and institutes, and share experiences in applying climate change response measures, designing plans and attracting public involvement.

Rotterdam will discuss the development of its resilience strategy, including assessing the vulnerability of major infrastructure facilities.
