SAN FRANCISCO: Singer Katy Perry’s halftime show at the Super Bowl XLIX was one of the top three most-tweeted moments of the American football game, which took place at the University of Phoenix Stadium field.
Perry performed with Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott during the halftime show in the US state of Arizona, and their gig generated over 3 million tweets. About 284,000 tweets were shared by users every minute towards the end of the performance, said Twitter.
During the show, Perry made her entrance atop a large animatronic lion and sang Roar. She went on to perform I Kissed A Girl with Kravitz. She also sang her signature California Gurls on a desert island set with dancers in cartoon shark costumes, before concluding her gig with her mega hit Firework.
Elliot guest-starred and performed Get Ur Freak on, along with Work It and Lose Control.
Super Bowl XLIX was the most-tweeted Super Bowl event to date, and generated over 28.4 million tweets in total.
In comparison, the recently-concluded Australian Open tennis tournament generated about 5.2 million tweets.
