Singapore’s first Prime Minister remains critically ill, according to the Prime Minister’s Office
SINGAPORE: The Republic’s first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s condition has “deteriorated further” and he remains “critically ill” in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), according to an update on Wednesday (Mar 18) from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Mr Lee has been in hospital since Feb 5, when he was admitted for severe pneumonia.
In an update on Tuesday, the PMO said Mr Lee’s condition has worsened due to an infection, and he is on antibiotics. Doctors are closely monitoring his condition, it added.
