BENTONG,. Another 1Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA) project in Pahang has been launched at Kampung Baru Sungai Dua here for the benefit of the local residents.
The project has 28 units of double-storey houses measuring 16ft x 65ft with a built up area of 1,000 sq ft.
There used to be a factory on the 0.728ha site.
To be developed by Penamin Sdn Bhd, the project is estimated to be completed by end of next year.
MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, who is also the incumbent Bentong MP, launched the project here on Thursday morning.
He said he has requested the district officer to identify more government land nearby for the purpose of building more affordable homes for the people.
“As of now, the state government has PR1MA projects in Pelangai, Karak Setia and Chamang.
“The Federal Government, meanwhile, will build 500 affordable homes in Bentong as well,” he said.
Representative from housing department of state secretariat Shamsul Arifie Shamsul Baharin said Pahang residents aged 18 and above, with a combined income (husband and wife) of below RM10,000 a month, among other criteria, can apply for PR1MA Pahang units.
