MIC Will Ensure Candidates Fit PM’s Desired Characteristics

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 : The MIC will ensure that the candidates for the 14th general election (GE14) will meet the characteristics desired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Its president, Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said the party had submitted its list of candidates to Najib, but it may change as it has yet to be finalised.

“We already have the list, but it can always change. We understand what the Prime Minister said, that is to identify credible candidates who are winnable to ensure us an easier win.

“Having candidates with good credibility has always been MIC’s prerequisite. Those that we propose are credible and winnable candidates,” he told reporters at a press conference after attending MIC’s 71st General Assembly at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here yesterday that was officiated by Najib, who is also the Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman.
