Muhyiddin suspended as UMNO deputy president

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 – UMNO deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has been suspended until the next party elections.

Bernama via its ‘@bernamadotcom’ tweeted that the vice president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will take over the deputy president’s duty according to a statement issued by its party secretary general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Muhyiddin was suspended for failing to toe the line with the party president and continued criticism of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s handling of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad and RM2.6bil donation issues.

On July 28 last year, Muhyiddin was sacked as deputy prime minister in a Cabinet reshuffle, after publicly questioning Najib.
