KUALA LUMPUR,. Datuk Seri Najib Razak left his Taman Duta mansion here in a three-vehicle convoy whose destination is not immediately known, even as the multi-agency investigation into 1Malaysia Development Bhd (Bhd) accelerates.
His signature white Toyota Vellfire luxury MPV was seen leaving the compound with two police escorts and two cars around 9.50am today.
Najib’s departure roused curiosity among the media personnel staking outside his mansion in Jalan Langgak Duta this morning.
The convoy returned around 11.30am.
Attempts to determine where the convoy went were unfruitful.
Yesterday Najib was questioned for over five hours by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) that relaunched its probe into a RM42 million transfer from SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary of 1MDB.
He left looking worn and weary, and the MACC later revealed that the former PM asked for a day to recover before he returns for further questioning tomorrow.
MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull also confirmed Najib’s statement was recorded as part of normal investigations.
