JAKARTA, July 31 (Bernama) — Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor arrived here late Sunday afternoon from Kuala Lumpur to attend the 11th Annual Consultation between Malaysia and Indonesia on Monday.
Following the meeting, the prime minister will attend the the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) scheduled for Aug 2-4 at the Jakarta Convention Centre.
The plane carrying Najib and Rosmah touched down at the Halim Perdana Kusuma International Airport at 6.15 pm Indonesian time.
The prime minister was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim and his wife Datin Seri Che Mahani Ismail.
Later, upon arrival at the hotel, Najib and Rosmah were welcomed by several government officers, who are based in here, as well as the Malaysian delegation participating in both events.
The 11th annual consultation between Najib and Indonesian President Joko Widodo will focus on bilateral issues of mutual interest to both countries.
Subsequently, Najib will also participate in the 12th WIEF opening ceremony, themed “Decentralising Growth, Empowering Future Business”, together with Joko Widodo and other heads of government and state.
He is expected to deliver a special address at the opening ceremony and attend a gala dinner on the first day of the forum.
Some 2,500 delegates and 60 role players from over 100 countries are expected to attend the forum.
