SERDANG, July 11 : Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor attended the Aidilfitri open house of the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Officers Association (PPTD) at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).
The Prime Minister was received upon arrival at 8.50pm last night by Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and acting PPTD president, Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali.
Also present were ministry secretaries-general, senior government officers and administrative and diplomatic officers.
The Prime Minister, attired in a pastel green baju Melayu outfit , spent almost an hour in joining the guests for dinner and mingled with the officers before leaving the function at about 10 pm.
About 2,000 guests who attended the event were feted with various delicacies such satay, roast lamb, nasi beriani, laksa Johor, and traditional Malay cakes and a performance by Melaka Art Brigade troupe.
The guests were also entertained to songs rendered by the Royal Malay Regiment (RMD) Combo.
Meanwhile, Lokman, who is also Youth and Sports ministry secretary-general, hailed Najib’s presence saying was testimony that the prime minister valued the role of administrative and diplomatic officers (PTD).
“Your presence is our encouragement and it means a lot to all of us in PTD. The close cooperation between leaders and the public sector will continue.
“Chief secretary to the government wants PTD officers to be bold and creative to make impact in their deliverables. You (Najib) are the leader who walks the talk,” he said.
