The Petronas Raceline Malaysia did not complete the race after skidding at turn 15 in the ninth lap.
However, credit is due to him for performing admirably, having raced to sixth place in the first lap after starting from 18th position and taking fifth position in the second lap.
“I started off well but luck was not on my side when I skidded in the ninth lap. My mistake was that I was too eager to be in front.
“Riding before the home fans, I wanted to do my best but after this I need to learn to be more in control for a safer race. I hope the fans will continue to give their full backing to me in my next races,” he told reporters.
Another Malaysian rider, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) finished in 20th spot after clocking 41 minutes 39.704 seconds.
The Moto2 race was won by Maverick Vinales (Paginas Amarillas HP) who completed the 19 laps in 40’46.754s.
Mika Kallio of Marc VDS Racing Team was second (40:49.488s) while his teammate Esteve Rabat was third 40:54.808s.
