PETALING JAYA,. Kept promises and politicians rarely fit in the same sentence but PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar is aiming to deliver at least one from Election 2013.
When reminded by Twitter user @AlepWlicox of her “promise” made ahead of the 13th general election to bring the UK band here if the precursor to Pakatan Harapan won, the Permatang Pauh MP appeared to say she intended to deliver.
Nurul Izzah did not take long to respond, tweeting: “Indeed. A promise is a promise #PostRamadanDiscussion. Now get on to work!”
Barely hours after replying to the tweet, the 38-year-old also used Instagram to share a picture of her holding the band’s third album OK Computer.
To those who do not know, she is a professed Radiohead fan.
During an interview with UK’s Telegraph in 2012, she promised that if she ever becomes prime minister, she would make sure Radiohead performs first.
Nurul Izzah performed Fake Plastic Trees — from the band’s second studio album The Bends — during the Rock 4 Right concert in Penang in 2011.
Malaysian Radiohead fans keep your fingers crossed because, as by the looks of it, the band might well make their first ever show in KL.
