KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 (Bernama) — Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Rafizi Ramli was detained by police today to assist in investigations of the #KitaLawan rally held in the city centre on March 7.
Dang Wangi District Police Chief ACP Zainol Samah said Rafizi was detained at 7pm under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and under Section 143 of the Penal Code.
“We have taken his statement on his involvement in the #KitaLawan rally,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
The rally was held to show support to Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is serving a five-year prison sentence for sodomy.
PKR Youth Chief, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and a Subang Jaya City Council staff, Mohd Saifullah Mohd Zulkifli were arrested on Saturday to assist in investigations related to the rally.
