KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Bernama) — Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun, on behalf of the Royal Malaysia Police, today congratulated Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on his appointment as the new Home Minister.
He said the police force remained committed to carrying out the trust in safeguarding the security of the country and well-being of the people as well as uplifting the Home Ministry under Muhyiddin’s leadership.
“The police force convey heartiest congratulations to Tan Sri Muhyiddin on his appointment as announced by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on May 12,” he said in a statement today.
Muhyiddin, 70, who is also Pakatan Harapan (PH) deputy president, was appointed as home minister following the victory of the PH in the 14th general election on May 9, ending the 60-year rule of the Barisan Nasional government.
He is the president of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), a component of Pakatan Harapan.
