PETALING JAYA, Dec 14 — Pakatan Rakyat (PR) must make a clear stand that the opposition pact will not implement hudud laws if it wins the next general election, said DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
He said the pact must have clear and consistent policies which could gain the confidence of the people.
“We can only succeed if our position is clear, that if Pakatan captures Putrajaya, it will not implement hudud laws.
“That must be clear. Because that is the aspiration of voters who are moderate, not (the aspiration) of voters with extremist leanings,” he said when opening DAP’s annual convention here Sunday.
He said the parties in Pakatan (DAP, PKR and PAS) must also decide as to who would be prime minister (should it win the election).
