PETALING JAYA,.  Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie continued their fine form when they stormed into the mixed doubles quarter-finals at the German Open.

The third seeds defeated Lee-yang-Hsu Ya-ching of Taiwan 21-16, 21-15 in Mulheim yesterday to set up a meeting against Thailand’s Dechapol Puava­ranukroh-Sapsiree Taerattanachai.

Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong also made it to the men’s doubles quarter-finals after a sensational 21-15, 21-16 win over Thailand’s Tinn Isriyanet-Kittisak Namdash in the second round yesterday.

The Rio Olympic silver medal winners had battled for 61 minutes before breaking the resolve of Hiroyuki Endo-Yuta Watanabe of Japan for a 21-16, 17-21, 21-16 first round win on Wednesday.

They are the only survivors in the men’s doubles after Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi were eliminated in the first round after giving fourth seeds Lee Jhe-huei-Lee-yang of Taiwan a good fight before losing 21-17, 15-21, 20-22.

It’s all over in the women’s singles for Malaysia when Goh Jin Wei joined Soniia Cheah on the first-round casualty list.

Jin Wei went down tamely 15-21, 10-21 to Sayaka Sato of Japan on Wednesday.
