Thailand Plans Tallest Skyscraper In Asean
BANGKOK, Oct 16 (Bernama) – A Thai real estate developer has unveiled its plan to build a 125-storey office and hotel tower that would make Bangkok home to the tallest skyscraper in Southeast Asia in future.

The 615-metre tall Rama IX Super Tower will cost 18 billion THB (about US$550 million) to build and may become the second tallest building in the world once completed in 2019, said Grand Canal Land (G-Land) construction company.

Bangkok Post newspaper quoted G-Land chairman Yothin Boondicharern as saying the Rama IX Super Tower will anchor the Grand Rama 9 complex which houses offices, a shopping mall and a residential area.

Thailand’s tallest building is the 85-storey, 328.4-metre high Baiyok Tower.
Asean’s tallest building is the Petronas twin towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which stands 452 metres tall and has 88 floors.
