Former Batu member of parliament Chua Tian Chang has been named as the new Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) Chairman.
Asia News Today learnt this appointment after sighting a welcome page posted on MPC Facebook page.
It is believed that the appointment effectively took place today.
Fondly known as Tian Chua in the political circle, he is replacing the former Chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim.
MPC was formed to provide adequate support, training and consultation in relation to productivity within public and private sector.
Over the years, MPC has helped government agencies to formulate strategic thinking, productivity white papers based on respective industry.
The relevance of MPC is highly essential to gear up the nation for better productivity matching the latest business climate.
On March 1, Tian Chua was appointed as special adviser to Works Minister Baru Bian.
Tian Chua, former Batu MP (2008 -2018), holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree from University of Sydney, Australia (1984-1986) and Bachelor of Arts (History and Philosophy of Science) from University of New South Wales, Australia (1989).
He also holds a Master’s of Arts (Employment and Labor Studies) from the Institute of Social Studies, in The Hague, Netherlands in 1994.
