BRICS, North Korea Could Help Resolve Ukraine Conflict – Putin

MURMANSK (Russia) – Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that not only the United States (US) but also other countries, particularly members of the BRICS bloc, could play a role in helping to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, according to the TASS news agency.

“Not only the US, but also China, India, Brazil, South Africa – all the BRICS countries,” Putin said during a meeting with crew members of the Arkhangelsk, a Yasen-M class nuclear-powered submarine (Project 885M).

“And there are many other countries as well, for example, including North Korea, with which we have a signed agreement,” he added.

BRICS was established in 2006 with initial members Brazil, Russia, India, and China.
South Africa joined in 2010, and Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) became members last year.
