Cabinet meeting: “I have sworn, I don’t want to go to hell” – Ahmad Faizal
PUTRAJAYA: Whatever is discussed in the Cabinet Meeting cannot be revealed to the public, said Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
Strictly speaking, he has sworn in the name of God in front of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong not to share any of the essence of the Cabinet meeting held on Friday.
“I have sworn in front of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, I cannot tell you what we discussed in the Cabinet. If I do this (break the oath)..because I swear in the name of God.
“If I tell you, go to hell, I don’t want to go to hell. Eating bribes, misusing power, then swearing in the name of God, then we don’t follow, go to hell.
“So don’t eat bribes because you will go to hell, not to jail,” he said at a press conference after the inauguration of the 2022 National Sports Day in Putrajaya which was officiated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Ahmad Faizal, who is also the Deputy President of Bersatu, said this in response to a media question on whether the dissolution of Parliament was discussed or not in yesterday’s Cabinet meeting.
When asked to comment on UMNO Secretary General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan’s criticism of Perikatan Nasional (PN) minister’s letter to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, he insisted that all parties can express their views.
“My friend, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, UMNO Secretary General and Member of Parliament for Pontian, he disagrees a lot with MPs from PN and we all never agree with him either.
“This is a democratic country, we think we need to convey our wishes, presented to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
“There are those who do not agree, there are also many who agree. We don’t need to fight, I respect him and I think each of us can express our views,” he said.
