China Dispatches Rescue Team to Earthquake-Stricken Myanmar

KUNMING, March 29 — A 37-member rescue team from China’s Yunnan Province departed for Myanmar early Saturday morning, following a powerful earthquake that struck the Southeast Asian nation on Friday.

The team, equipped with emergency relief gear including life detectors, earthquake early warning systems, and drones, took off from Kunming Changshui International Airport at around 6 a.m. Yunnan shares a border with Myanmar, facilitating a swift response.

Chinese authorities say the team will support ongoing disaster relief operations and provide medical assistance in affected areas. Their deployment underscores regional solidarity in the face of natural disasters.
