China Pavilion Officially Opens at Expo 2025 Osaka, Celebrates China-Japan Friendship
OSAKA, April 14 — The China Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka officially opened today at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, marking a significant moment in cultural diplomacy. Attended by delegates from Chinese and Japanese political and business communities, along with the pavilion’s construction committee, the event underscored mutual efforts toward greater cooperation and exchange.
The opening ceremony featured performances including the dance drama Crested Ibis—a symbol of China-Japan friendship—and a traditional lion dance, both conveying a message of peace and goodwill through cultural expression.
Covering approximately 3,509 square meters, the China Pavilion is one of the largest self-built foreign pavilions at the Expo. Its architecture is inspired by ancient bamboo slips, blending symbols of Chinese heritage such as calligraphy and scrolls to reflect 5,000 years of wisdom and modern innovation.
Themed “Building a Community of Life for Man and Nature – A Future Society of Green Development,” the exhibition is divided into three main sections: Harmony Between Humanity and Nature, Green Mountains and Clear Waters, and Endless Life. Together, they portray China’s traditional ecological values alongside its current achievements in sustainable development.
