“Chinese Bridge” Language and Talent Show for Primary School Students Held in Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, March 31 – The 3rd edition of the “Chinese Bridge” competition for primary school students was held in Ulan Bator on Friday, bringing together young language learners from across Mongolia in a vibrant celebration of Chinese language and culture.

Held under the theme “Let’s Learn Chinese in a Fun Way,” the event is part of a series of cultural activities commemorating United Nations Chinese Language Day in Mongolia. This year’s competition featured 24 finalists from eight schools across the country, who competed in two categories: themed speech and talent performance.

Emerging as the overall winner was Oyunjargal Khurelbaatar, a 4th-grade student from the Confucius Classroom at Yucai Chinese School in Ulan Bator. She will now have the opportunity to represent Mongolia at the international finals in China.

Li Zhi, Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, praised the efforts of the young participants, emphasizing that the Chinese language serves as both a gateway to understanding Chinese culture and a bridge fostering deeper ties between the people of China and Mongolia.

He encouraged the students to build on their achievements, continue mastering the language, and take on roles as ambassadors of cultural exchange and promoters of bilateral friendship.

The event was hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia and organized by the Confucius Institute at the National University of Mongolia (NUM). It aims to provide a platform for Mongolian children to showcase their Chinese language skills, express their cultural interests, and strengthen the growing connection between the two nations.
