Closed Badminton Competition (Men’s Doubles) Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali Cup Organized by Kilasan Badminton Club

Congratulation, the Badminton Closed Competition (Men’s Doubles) of the Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali Cup took place successfully on Sunday, 18 September 2022.

The opening of the competition was completed by YB Hilman Idham, ADN Gombak Setia and Political Secretary to YB Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali.

The competition organized by the Gombak Member of Parliament People’s Service Center in collaboration with Kilasan Badminton Club has attracted the participation of 32 doubles teams in the Novice and Veteran categories.

InsyaAllah, more activities based on sports and recreation will be organized by the Service Center to create a more fit and healthy Gombak community.

In addition to shining the spirit of sportsmanship in the community, sports can also apply good values ​​and family spirit.

Making badminton a leisure activity on weekends, veterans around Gombak use the opportunity to inculcate a sporting culture among them.

More than 64 participants took part in the 2022 Datuk Seri Azmin Ali Cup Men’s Indoor Doubles Badminton Competition organized by Kelab Kilasan together with the Gombak Parliament at MSN Complex Setiawangsa, the capital.

Kilasan Gombak Badminton Club president, Mohd Idham Adnan said after 2 years of going through the pandemic phase, it is the first competition to unearth and highlight the talent of the participants in the field of Badminton.

“So far our participation has 32 doubles pairs, 16 doubles for novices and 16 doubles for veteran pairs”

“We hope that this event will be able to continue in the coming years and become an annual event in the gombak parliament and also in other parliaments so that we can foster the spirit of sportsmanship among the youth in our country” said Mohd Idham Adnan as President of Kilasan Badminton Club Gombak.

What is interesting about this competition is the unity between the community where participants from the veteran group can also participate in the competition.

“It’s like I’ve been in badminton for almost 50 years, meaning that I started young so this is the right time and we can get together with old and new friends to participate in a competition, it’s not for winning but to enliven the event organized by Datuk Seri” said one veteran contestant Hussin Shahar.

Meanwhile, the Political Secretary to the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Muhammad Hilman Idham who officiated the competition said he will plan to hold the competition on a large scale with the Dareah Gombak Youth and Sports Department with various categories next year.

“Considering the number of participation or the participation response is quite good among the community and it covers from all the entire community regardless of the veteran team there are also young people and so on” said Muhammad Hilman Idham as Political Secretary to the Senior Minister, Minister of International Trade and Industry Azmin Ali.

The winner of the Men’s Doubles Indoor Badminton Competition will take home the Datuk Seri Azmin Ali Cup, a hamper and RM500 in cash.
