Expo 2023 Doha: Algerian Pavilion Showcases Battle Against Desertification, Water Scarcity
Doha, October 18 (QNA) – The Algerian pavilion at the Expo 2023 Doha featured the story of Algeria’s challenge and success in combating desertification and water scarcity, using the best modern and advanced technologies and methods in desert agriculture since more than 50 years.
Head of the Algerian Pavilion, Mokhtar Attar said the visitors can learn about the most prominent locally produced plants and dates as well as the rich Algerian heritage, cultural history, and customs and traditions.
Algeria was keen to participate in Expo 2023 Doha, the country’s first-ever presence in the Exo history, because the event is a platform for strengthening international partnerships, and a model for meeting minds and integrating efforts to build a sustainable future, he said.
Attar extolled the event as impressive, stressing that Qatar has become the most distinguished in organizing events and exhibitions with high professionalism. He pointed out that most of the pavilions at the Expo site are distinctive and indicate the culture of each country, which gives participating countries and international organizations an unprecedented opportunity to showcase their innovative initiatives and agricultural practices to other countries.
