Flight ticket price: Anthony Loke asks Ka Siong to understand the previous statement

KUALA LUMPUR: Transport Minister, Anthony Loke asked Ayer Hitam Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong to understand the statement issued by his party so that there is no more confusion regarding the issue of flight ticket prices.

He informed that he had answered the questions posed by Ka Siong including media practitioners who asked about the price of flight tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau, Sabah which allegedly increased by more than RM1,000.

“I think he didn’t follow what I answered. I have answered several times already. As early as March we have launched a fixed fare rate by AirAsia and for his information I hold a press conference every day. Not only did Ka Siong ask, fellow journalists also asked about plane tickets.

“So the capacity has indeed increased and also the sale of plane tickets and of course 18 to 20 is the peak period where most tickets have already been sold.

“Early until the last week of Ramadan. Because people responded to his advice. Because Ka siong used to ask people to buy earlier. Has he forgotten the advice from him before?,” he asked again after conducting a work visit at the Integrated Bus Terminal (TBS) in conjunction with Aidilfitri, on Wednesday.

Previously, Ka Siong who is also the former Transport Minister described Loke as not answering the question whether the ministry was able to lower the price of flight tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau below RM1,000 and increase seat capacity to accommodate demand during the festive season.
