Flood victims in Batu Pahat remain 50 people
JOHOR BAHRU: The number of flood victims in Batu Pahat district remains 50 people from 13 families as of 8 tonight.
The District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD) in a statement informed that all the victims were placed in a temporary evacuation center at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Gading which was opened since last Wednesday.
According to JPBD, they have not yet been allowed to return home because their respective home areas are still flooded.
All the victims involve residents of Taman Sri Panchor, Kampung Sengkuang, Kampung Baru Sri Gading, Pekan Seri Gading and Kampung Seri Tanjung.
The flooding occurred due to the clash of heavy rain that started at 1.30 am to 5.30 am last Wednesday and the tide phenomenon.
