Friend arrested, robbed of money, RM76,000 worth of jewelery belonging to restaurant waiter
KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a local man and an Indonesian woman yesterday, who are suspected of being involved in a robbery case at a shophouse in Taman Saujana, Puchong near here, two days ago, involving the loss of cash and jewelery amounting to about RM76 ,000.
Subang Jaya District Police Chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said in the incident at 4pm on Thursday, three men broke into the house before kicking the occupant, a 43-year-old Indonesian restaurant waiter.
He said the three men then ran away with cash amounting to RM65,000 and jewelery worth about RM11,000 kept in the cupboard, and the victim then made a police report at 7.39pm, the same day.
In today’s statement, Wan Azlan said yesterday the police managed to arrest a woman who was a friend of the victim and a man in separate locations in Subang Jaya, both aged around 30 to 40, and as a result of interrogation both suspects admitted to being involved. in the case concerned.
He said the police also seized cash amounting to RM17,000 as well as various types of jewelery suspected to be the result of robbery from the two suspects, and the police were trying to track down two more men whose identities have not been identified, to assist the investigation.
