GE15: Nancy Shukri to contest in Santubong


KUALA LUMPUR — Former Batang Sadong member of parliament (MP) Nancy Shukri will contest in Santubong.

The announcement made by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Abang Johari Openg, who is also the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) president.

The Santubong seat was previously held by four-term MP Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, who has decided to step down and in 2018, Wan Junaidi garnered 26,379 votes.

Nancy Shukri has served as Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture since August 2021. Other portfolios held by her are Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities.

Meanwhile, Rohani Abdul Karim will not defend the Batang Lupar seat in the 15th general election (GE15), with Shafizan Kepli set to contest the constituency for GPS.

PRS President Joseph Salang is fielded to recapture Julau and GPS sec-gen Alexander Nanta Linggi to defend Kapit parliamentary seat.

Former Works Minister Fadillah Yusof will defend Petra Jaya seat.
