SUBANG JAYA — Barisan Nasional candidate for Subang parliament, Dr Kow has mooted a town hall session as a yearly affair involving all the local government stakeholders, resident association leaders and residents in voicing out Subang Jaya policy and development issues.

According to Dr Kow, his team will set up a mechanism to collect and present them during the town hall session to highlight all residents’ issues with agencies such as local councils, the police and the welfare department. He plans to make it at least 4 times a year if elected as the Subang parliamentarian.

He added that by having this town hall session, it will allow the Subang residents to voice out any shortcomings in the area in an open, transparent way and find constructive solution to the issues.

Additionally, Dr Kow has also listed out in his GE15 campaign plans to make Subang a safe city and improve the SME needs in the area.

Being a trainer and a lecturer who obtained his doctorate in biotechnology from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Dr Kow has planned out Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) training for the local youths and those with semi-skilled workers.

In GE 15, Dr Kow will take on the incumbent Wong Chen (PH) and Alex Ang (PN).

This constituency was previously known as Kelana Jaya before it was renamed Subang in 2018 redelineation exercise right before the 14th General Election.

The same redelineation exercise also saw a change in the two state seats within the constituency from Seri Setia and Subang Jaya (under Kelana Jaya) to Kinrara and Subang Jaya (under Subang).

The seat has been held by PKR since GE12 in 2008 when Loh Gwo Burne won the seat.

Being a stronghold seat for PKR, Wong Chen in GE13 won with a majority of 28,827  and also won in GE14 in 2018 with a thumping 92,353 majority.

Dr Kow previously served 10 years as a municipal councillor and four years as Kinrara assemblyman.

He is also active in the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), Chairman of SJKC Shin Cheng and panelist of Metaverse Gen Z.
