Hock Seng Lee anticipates significant growth across several sectors in 2025, to enhance flagship La Promenade development

KUCHING (Dec 11): Hock Seng Lee (HSL) is anticipating significant growth across its infrastructure, real estate, and retail sectors in the coming year. The multidisciplinary construction firm based here told reporters at its media night on Tuesday that it is moving forward with ambitious property development plans, including further enhancements to the flagship La Promenade development.

HSL currently has about a dozen property projects in various stages of planning throughout Kuching, with around half in advanced phases. Among these are new offerings at Samariang Aman 3, Vista Industrial Park, and additional phases within the 200-acre gated community of La Promenade.

Future developments for La Promenade include limited units of two-storey semi-detached houses, three-storey luxury duplexes, bungalows, as well as serviced apartments and condominiums. The company is preparing for the handover of homes in La Promenade’s Precinct Grande, where three-storey units are priced between RM2.65 million and RM4 million.

A new riverside park within the gated community is also set to open.

Additionally, HSL plans to launch more landed housing along the Pan Borneo Highway and introduce high-rise residential projects featuring integrated childcare facilities and fitness amenities.

HSL’s first condominium project, Jigsaw, located near Kuching International Airport, has seen strong demand since its launch in October, particularly for studio units.

The development aims to deliver the luxurious lifestyle of La Promenade at more accessible prices, offering features like enhanced security, fitness facilities, and green spaces.

Construction is also set to begin soon on Citadines Langit Kuching, a project that emerged from HSL’s first architectural competition AIR. Results from the company’s second edition of AIR are expected in early 2025.

On the retail front, HSL’s La Promenade Mall, which opened in 2020, is now 90 per cent tenanted.

New tenants include MG Cars, two Japanese restaurants (Yoyogi Shabu Shabu and Aomori), home furnishing retailer Oppein, bridal studio AsahiLove, and an expanded office for Sarawak Microelectronics Design.

The mall also continues to emphasise community engagement, providing rent-free spaces for charity tenants and supporting youth entrepreneurship through event opportunities and kiosks.

HSL is also ramping up plans for future events, such as an expanded Oktoberfest in 2025 and the HSL Samarahan Marathon, which will be held on June 14-15, 2025, with registration opening on Dec 20.

Despite challenges during its launch during the pandemic, La Promenade Mall has steadily grown, retaining most of its original tenants while welcoming new ones.
