Illegal sale of diesel by fuel station in Dungun
KUALA TERENGGANU,. The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (MDTCA) uncovered an illegal activity involving sale of diesel by a fuel station in Dungun in a raid yesterday.
MDTCA enforcement director in Terengganu Saharuddin Mohd Kia said 615 litres of diesel, worth RM1,297, was seized in the raid, conducted at 1.40 pm.
“During the raid, a local man in his 40s was seen filling diesel into a drum which was placed at the back of a four-wheel drive vehicle. When questioned, the man could not provide any document for the purchase of the subsidised diesel,” he said in a statement today.
He said the raid was conducted following a tip-off and three-day of intelligence work.
The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974, Control of Supplies Act 1961 for selling scheduled controlled goods (diesel) to people who do not have written permission from the Supply Controller, he added.
