Malaysia will host WWLS 2023

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will host for the first time the World Women’s Leadership Summit 2023 (WWLS 2023) which will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) on March 2 to 3, 2023.

The Minister of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), Datuk Seri Rina Harun said, with the theme of ‘News Norms, Fresh Hopes, Big Dreams’, the organization of WWLS 2023 coincides with the wishes of the Malaysian Family in showing the spirit and agenda for women to rise up after the COVID-19 pandemic. .

He explained that the initiative can dignify the role of women in leading family and community leadership.

“Will discuss women’s leadership at the global level in all aspects including health, science and technology, business, finance, education, government governance and environmental issues.

“In addition, we also expect to feature more than 20 world-class icons including public sector leaders, corporate figures and women heads of state.

“In fact, more than 2,000 delegates from 30 countries, including world-renowned women leaders, are expected to participate in WWLS 2023,” he said after the Pre-Launching Ceremony of the World Women’s Leadership Summit 2023 (WWLS 2023) on Tuesday.

Also present were KPWKM’s Deputy Secretary General for Strategic Affairs, Chua Choon Hwa, Chairman of the Women’s Leadership Foundation, Datuk Dr Hafsah Hashim, and Director General of the Women’s Development Department, Dr Wan Nur Ibtisam Wan Ismail.

In addition, Rina said, WWLS 2023 will be a global stage to openly discuss the readiness of women to face their special challenges in the new post-pandemic world in line with the government’s goal to empower women and increase gender equality in Malaysia.

“This WWLS will also produce a resolution that is scheduled to be announced by the Prime Minister to highlight the agenda of women’s leadership empowerment at the global level,” she said.

The organization of WWLS 2023 will be officiated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri.

At the same time, KPWKM and Yayasan Kepimpinan Wanita (Women Leadership Foundation) as co-organizers also welcome collaboration and contributions from the corporate, government and private sectors to make WWLS 2023 a success.
