KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysian authorities said yesterday that, 370.8 kilograms of drugs worth 25.5 million ringgit (5.34 million U.S. dollars) have been seized in the country’s southern state of Johor.

The drugs were seized in three separate operations this month, against international drug trafficking syndicates, deputy director-general of the customs department, Sazali Mohamad, revealed.

Sazali said, the largest seizure involved ecstasy pills with a gross weight of 269.75 kilograms, worth 19.8 million ringgit (4.14 million U.S. dollars).

He added that, the mode of smuggling was almost the same in all three cases: the drugs were smuggled in from Europe, via air freight into the final destination, Malaysia.
