MATRADE Launches MADANI Digital Trade
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), in collaboration with Nazsoft Tech Sdn Bhd, has launched MADANI Digital Trade (MDT), a virtual integrated platform designed to strengthen Malaysian exporters’ access to international markets.
MATRADE Chairman, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, stated that the MDT platform aligns with the government’s strategy to leverage digital tools for broader market access and intelligence.
“This platform represents a strategic approach with the potential to empower Malaysian exporters of various sizes to connect directly with international markets, accelerate market diversification, and ultimately achieve greater success. This is in line with our target to increase the digital economy’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 19.1% in 2019 to 22.6% by 2025,” he said during the MDT launch event.
MDT, which offers business matchmaking, digital marketplaces, market intelligence through grants, training, market access, and trade-related business solutions, was launched by the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
The Royal Malaysian Customs Department supports MDT by providing users with access to its services through the platform.
According to MATRADE, this strategic partnership leverages automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics to facilitate trade, including customs declaration access for imports, exports, e-commerce, and regulatory compliance.
The key functions of the MDT platform include:
Virtual Interaction Platform: Connecting businesses with MATRADE’s Premium Buyers and the International Sourcing Program (INSP) to facilitate business matching and identify potential buyers across diverse markets.
Digital Marketplaces & Market Aggregators: Enabling micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase and sell their products and services, bridging the gap between Malaysian brands and international markets while allowing businesses to adapt quickly to changing consumer preferences and market demands.
Digital Trade Hub & Members’ Portal: A centralized portal providing exporters with comprehensive information, grants, and training, streamlining trade procedures, and reducing cross-border trading costs, giving Malaysian businesses the agility to tap into green economy opportunities.
“This platform also acts as a one-stop business solution hub, offering access to shared services and innovative solutions for sustainability efforts, IR4.0, trade financing, digital marketing, virtual assistants, and more—driving business growth and accelerating market diversification strategies.”
MDT also introduces an intelligent virtual assistant, MIVA, which greets and assists all registered members in navigating the platform, providing 24/7 real-time support for buyers.
