
MDEC award recognises UniKL MIIT’s excellence in digital tech education
KUALA LUMPUR (March 3): Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (UniKL MIIT) has been awarded the prestigious MDEC PDTI Outstanding Faculty Award 2024, highlighting its excellence in digital technology education.
Presented by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the Premier Digital Tech Institutions (PDTI) initiative brings together key players from industry, universities and other educational institutions to bridge the gap between industry demand and local talent supply.
The award, which came with a cash prize of RM8,000, recognises UniKL MIIT as the top performer among 42 faculties and schools across 24 public and private higher education institutions in Malaysia.
UniKL MIIT has consistently demonstrated its capabilities through high-impact publications, effective knowledge transfer programmes, and an industry-driven syllabus designed to equip students with the latest digital skills.
Building on this success, the institution continues to play a pivotal role in advancing Malaysia’s digital landscape.
“UniKL MIIT’s recognition by MDEC underscores our commitment to innovation and student success. Our active participation in high-level discussions and collaborations continues to shape the future of digital technology education in Malaysia,” said the university in a release.
