MN and PN issues: Hold the mandate of Abdul Hadi – Takiyuddin
KOTA BHARU: The central PAS has reminded the state leadership to adhere to the mandate of the President, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang who set the stance to strengthen the National Consensus (MN) and defend the National Alliance (PN).
PAS secretary -general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said in the matter, all state and constituency PAS leaders should refer to Abdul Hadi’s previous statement.
“Basically for me the issue of MN and PN, please refer to all the statements of YAB Tan Sri President… that is the stand of Pas.
“The rest of that (is) a personal view. Pas’ stand is based on the president’s writings and statements, that is a decision that binds Pas leaders and members, “he explained.
Takiyuddin said this when asked to comment on the meeting that will take place between Pas and UMNO Kelantan on January 22.
The meeting requested by the Kelantan UMNO Liaison Body, among others, was to discuss the direction of Pas Kelantan whether to be with PN or stay with the spirit of MN.
This is because UMNO Kelantan insists that it does not want to cooperate with Pas in the next 15th General Election (GE15) if the party remains with PN which is also joined by Parti Peribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
Earlier, Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar, Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah asked that UMNO not put conditions on Pas to choose Bersatu or UMNO.
Pas and UMNO Kelantan are expected to hold a meeting on January 22 to discuss the party’s direction.
