MOTAC expands hopes for generations in the field of TVET education so that the local workforce can be fulfilled.

SHAH ALAM: The government plans to expand the Generation Aspiration Program in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the tourism sector.
The goal is to provide more opportunities for local graduates to get involved in the industry.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, said this initiative, created together with higher education institutions, aims to address the problem of shortage of skilled workers in the tourism sector in our country. It specifically includes five areas, namely tourist guides, hotels, spas and wellness and wellness centers, golf and theme parks.

“We will share an important way with students about the advantages and opportunities in the tourism sector which consists of five parts. ” To ensure students get jobs, we create ‘job matching’ so they know where they want to work.

“We have heard from industry players about how difficult it is for them to find trained workers. “This is a temporary and modest measure so that we can meet industry demand,” he said.

He said this after inaugurating the Aspirations of the TVET Generation in the Travel Sector which was held together with the Management and Science University (MSU) Talent Sync Expo 2024 here on Monday.

Khairul Firdaus also invited young people to always learn new skills and sharpen their talents in the fields they like. He believes that good skills are the key to success in today’s highly competitive job market.
