Nafuzi dedicated the victory to the supporters of the black and white squad
KUALA NERUS: Terengganu FC (TFC) manager Nafuzi Zain dedicated the Turtle Squad’s 2-0 win over Sabah FC in the Super League action here last night, especially for the supporters of the black and white squad.
According to Nafuzi, he was very moved and proud because the supporters and fans of Terengganu football always give solid support by coming to fill the stadium and describing them as one of the best supporters of football clubs in the country.
“I am really moved by the Terengganu football fans who have not stopped supporting the team from the beginning, since I started leading this team in 2018.
“Not to mention when we are in a fierce position competing with several other teams to grab a slot for the Asian Confederation Cup (AFC),” he said after the match against Sabah FC at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium here, last night.
In that match, two goals scored by the Turtle Squad were successfully produced by Nik Muhammad Shariff Haseefy Mohd Lazim and Pape Diakite.
In the meantime, Nafuzi praised the energetic performance of his men who succeeded in defeating the Sabah team who are ranked higher than TFC in the Super League rankings.
Meanwhile, Sabah Head Coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee said last night’s performance was the worst performance his men had ever displayed throughout the 19 Super League matches this season.
“Terengganu deserves to win, even with the pattern of the game like tonight, we don’t deserve even a draw,” he said.
However, he remains confident that Sabah is still on the right track to finish this season’s league in the top three teams, thus qualifying for the AFC Cup next season.
