« Peur Sur Le Parc » Returns from Now to 11th November 2024 With a New Haunted House
Parc Asterix wants to surprise its visitors once again with a terrifying new immersive haunted house: The Infernos of Pompeii. In 79 AD, Vesuvius erupted, leaving Pompeii nothing but ruins and misery. Visitors will be able to walk through the chaotic city of Pompeii, which has become a hotbed of unimaginable horror. The inhabitants emerge from the ruins as if from the underworld.
Trapped between life and death, these horribly mutilated victims pounce on the last survivors, hoping to devour them and to find a way out of their tragic fate. This new haunted house in the Roman Zone comprises 7 rooms with breathtaking settings: a Roman villa, a smouldering market, a destroyed coliseum and molten baths, with numerous effects reproducing lava flows, toxic fumes and sound effects to intensify this thrilling adventure. Haunted house admission charge: €5 (not recommended for under-16s)
THE TOMB OF THE GODS, A TRULY SPECTACULAR ODYSSEY
Located in the Egypt Zone, the park offers a multi-sensory experience: the Tomb of the Gods, where the most evil souls in Egyptian history are laid to rest. Condemned to eternal damnation, the gods Sobek, Anubis and Apophis will do anything to disturb the minds of our visitors. From the Corridor of Lamentations, through the Pit of the Damned, the Necropolis of Anubis and the Vortex of Souls, the bravest visitors will have to face the 9 trials of the Tomb of the Gods (not recommended for under-14s).
THE UNMISSABLE HAUNTED HOUSES
The Catacombs, a haunted house for the most daring visitors. A frightful expedition into the darkest corners of the underworld. Guided by a gravedigger to a secret entrance hidden in the heart of a cemetery, visitors enter the haunted house through a large vault located in underground tunnels. They will soon realise that they are trapped… A rockslide, a mass grave, tunnels, cadavers – the brave visitors looking for a way out will be spared nothing. Covering 300 square metres, this haunted house has 14 rooms where visitors are sure to wander through some nasty surprises! Smoke effects, sound effects, wind, light effects and even smells will enhance this unparalleled adventure.
In The Wrath of Anubis, visitors can explore a collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts, but some disgruntled spirits have been set free… If you provoke them, you never know how they will manifest themselves. It’s a place where it’s best to be on your guard. The Lost Mission experience will take visitors on a space expedition in search of a crew lost on a strange planet. An encounter of the 3rd kind is guaranteed with bizarre creatures, all in 3D. The Métamorphosis show presents a live metamorphosis of a man into a frightening creature, lasting 15 minutes at the Théâtre de la Fontaine.
THE RETURN OF THE « SANGLIER BORGNE », A HIDDEN SPEAKEASY BAR IN THE HEART OF THE PARK
Have you heard the rumours? They say that a speakeasy has taken up residence in the dark corners of the park during this spooky season. A haven where you can enjoy cocktails or whiskies from our ancestral lands. The owner, Mauricette, despite her fiery temperament, might be prepared to offer visitors some much-needed refuge… as long as they respect her rules. You see, her servants Mimil and Fernand were once unruly customers. Now they have eternity to regret it. Can you discover this mysterious refuge by following the clues scattered around the park? Solving a riddle (which changes every day) will then grant you entry…
THE CURSE OF THE SIRIUS
Parc Astérix is welcoming a mysterious ship that has been missing for almost a century: the Sirius. The passengers, presumed shipwrecked long ago, are already looking forward to disembarking and meeting our visitors. Afflicted by an unknown illness that caused the ship’s disappearance, they are taking over this frightening new zone. This artistic adventure includes two shows, ‘‘The Dance of the Shipwrecked’’ and ‘‘The Last Dance of the Sirius’‘, as well as food and drink outlets. During the evenings, a live DJ set will keep visitors and the mysterious passengers dancing in the most chilling of atmospheres.
A HORROR BUFFET IN LE CIRQUE RESTAURANT
Food and drinks are also a central element of Peur sur le Parc. The Horror Buffet at the Le Cirque Restaurant is a prime example. Following his dismissal from the circus where he worked, The Master, a former circus artist, decides to take his revenge by opening his own horror-themed circus. Visitors will have the chance to meet strange and dangerous new characters, such as Jingo the Terror, the Cannibal Clown; Carmen, the Tormented Medium; and a brand-new circus performer. Locked up in cages, these characters will be presented by The Master at the Horror Buffet.
The menu includes dishes as delicious as they are terrifying, such as the cult avocado cerebellum known as ‘baby cacamole’, mini hot dogs resembling witches’ fingers, or wild boar sausages and Soissons beans cooked in a dog’s bowl. As for the dessert buffet, visitors can enjoy panna cotta with crispy caramel grasshoppers, a blood fountain or sweets from the miniature cemetery.
Le Cirque restaurant offers a family-friendly atmosphere based on the theme of terror over lunch (€32.90 for adults and €12.50 for children, booking required), while the evenings offer total immersion with the characters (single price €34.90, booking required).
ENTERTAINMENT FOR ALL THE FAMILY
Once again, this year, Parc Astérix is decked out in the colours of autumn, with no fewer than 14 tonnes of pumpkins and 3,000 stalks of corn and bales of straw spread throughout the park and hotels. To ensure that everyone has the most enjoyable experience possible, scare zones are carefully marked out throughout the park, with traffic lights indicating the level of fright: ‘‘Little Chills’’ for the youngest, ‘‘Moderate Frights’’ for the whole family and ‘‘Big Terrors’’ for the most daring.
Little ones will also have their share of fun as they explore a living garden setting in The Forest of Idéfix, where a fascinating plant world will feature larger-than-life creatures.
In the Village of the Indomitable Gauls, a leprechaun awaits Little Gauls for an animated tale full of surprises. There will be plenty to delight visitors of all ages throughout this autumn season at Parc Astérix. There will also be face painting workshops.
THE MONSTERS RETURN TO THE PARK
From terrifying monsters to the living dead, 300 artists will be bringing the Peur sur le Parc experience to life for visitors every day. The Streets of Paris will continue to fascinate visitors with the appearance of various characters: zombies, witches, wild beasts and Templars from another era will not fail to amaze the bravest of visitors, not forgetting the inevitable ‘man with a chainsaw’. Finally, every day at the close of the park, the Parade of Monsters will delight young and old alike, with a new float featuring Carmen the Clairvoyant, the Loyal Master and the Cannibal Clown.
