Rafiq Naizamohideen resigns as Melaka Bersatu, PN chief
KUALA LUMPUR — Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen today announced his resignation as Melaka Bersatu chief and Melaka Perikatan Nasional (PN) chief with immediate effect and the official letter will be submitted to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin tomorrow.
According to his statement on Facebook, he takes this opportunity to apologize for any shortcomings during his tenure as the PN Chairman and Bersatu chief in Melaka.
By quitting his position, he hopes it will allow new leadership to head the Bersatu and PN Melaka to prepare for the next 15th General Election.
He also prays that people in Melaka and Malaysians will continue to give support for Perikatan Nasional under the leadership of Muhyiddin Yassin and hopes Perikatan Nasional will manage to win the next general election.
Mohd Rafiq contested in Telok Mas seat in the Melaka polls last week however lost with a majority of 2,076 against Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman.
