Sabah-made noodles to enter Philippines market
KOTA KINABALU (Nov 20): Sabah’s culinary prowess is set to take centre stage in the Philippines, with Comogo Noodles Manufacturer Sdn Bhd (CNG) and the Sabah Cross Border Trade Association (SCBTA) joining forces to introduce Sabah-made noodles to the lucrative markets of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and the Zamboanga Peninsula.
The partnership, forged during a recent factory visit, promises to bring a taste of Sabah to Filipino consumers.
CNG Managing Director Chua Kui Ting and SCBTA President Razanah Paimin expressed confidence in the venture, highlighting the significant demand for noodles in the region and the potential for profitability.
“The Philippine market is vast, and we believe Sabah-made noodles have a strong chance of success,” said Chua. “We’re confident that our products, known for their quality and affordability, will resonate with Filipino consumers.”
Chua emphasized the importance of a strategic approach to market penetration, citing SCBTA’s strong business connections in the target areas as a key asset.
“SCBTA’s expertise and network will be invaluable in helping us establish a strong foothold in the market,” he added.
Razanah, echoing Chua’s sentiments, highlighted the high demand for noodles in BARMM and the Zamboanga Peninsula.
“Filipinos in these areas appreciate the affordability and Halal certification of Sabah noodles,” she explained.
“Sabah noodles offer a competitive advantage in terms of pricing compared to local and imported brands,” she added.
Razanah said CNG quality of products are of high quality apart from its reasonable pricing.
“I am pressed with the high technologies used by CNG and its Halal certification,” she added.
The collaboration between CNG and SCBTA marks a significant step towards expanding the reach of Sabah’s food industry.
The partnership aims to benefit all stakeholders, including consumers who will have access to high-quality, affordable noodles, and businesses who will benefit from the increased market share.
