Sri Lanka To Seek Investor To Develop Geo Gas Terminal
COLOMBO, Jun 26 (NNN-XINHUA) – Sri Lanka’s cabinet, gave approval for the identification of an investor, through a competitive process, for the implementation of a geo gas terminal project, the government’s information department said, yesterday.
The department said, the project at the area called Kerawalapitiya, in western Sri Lanka, comprised of internal burner engines of 200 megawatts, with twin fuel capacity.
According to the department, it is a project recognised by the long term electricity generating plan for 2023 to 2042, and approved by Sri Lanka public utilities commission. It is expected to be developed under build, own, operate, transfer basis for 20 years, as an independent power generator, the department said.
