Thailand’s Tourism Authority Makes a Bold Statement at Outbound Travel Mart 2025, Showcasing Its Tourism Marvels to the World
Thailand’s Tourism Authority (TAT) is making a strong impression at Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2025, the premier travel trade event in South Asia, taking place from 30 January to 1 February at the Jio World Convention Centre. This highly anticipated 24th edition has attracted an impressive lineup of more than 1,600 exhibitors representing over 60 nations. With a turnout of over 40,000 attendees, including industry experts, corporate buyers, and avid travelers, OTM 2025 serves as a vibrant platform for Thailand to highlight its diverse tourism offerings and strengthen global partnerships.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, stated: “India remains one of our most significant tourism markets, and we are delighted to celebrate surpassing 2 million Indian
visitors to Thailand last year. At OTM 2025, we present our country’s rich and diverse offerings as part of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025. Our goal is
to inspire first-time visitors, deepen connections with Indian travellers, and highlight unmatched experiences through cultural promotion and business exchanges.”
For the 12th consecutive year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is making a strong impression at OTM, reinforcing its dedication to strengthening ties with the Indian travel market. Showcasing Thailand’s vibrant culture, world-class hospitality, and diverse tourism landscape, the Amazing Thailand Stand highlights premium travel experiences, including luxury vacations, family-friendly getaways, wellness retreats, and corporate incentive trips. The event also serves as a crucial networking hub, connecting 25 leading Thai travel businesses with Indian buyers to foster partnerships and expand collaboration.
Designed to captivate visitors, the stand features an engaging cultural zone where traditional performances, handicrafts, and artistic displays offer a glimpse into Thailand’s rich heritage. TAT has set an ambitious target of welcoming 2.3 million Indian travelers in 2025, with a strategic focus on key segments such as family holidays, destination weddings, millennial adventurers, high-end leisure, and golf tourism. Flagship promotional campaigns include “Living it up in Thailand,” tailored for young explorers, and “The Celebrations with Care and Inner Shine,” positioning the country as a top-tier wedding and family celebration destination.
In 2024, Thailand welcomed 2,129,149 Indian visitors, reflecting a 30.74% surge compared to the 1,628,542 arrivals in 2023. This impressive growth is largely attributed to Thailand’s visa-free entry for stays of up to 60 days, the convenience of direct flights from major Indian cities taking just two to four hours, and robust airline connectivity. With 2.93 million available airline seats in 2024, the market rebounded to 92.96% of pre-pandemic capacity. Thailand’s reputation for offering luxury experiences at competitive value continues to enhance its appeal among Indian travelers.
Bangkok, Phuket, and Krabi remain top choices for Indian visitors, while destinations like Surat Thani and Kanchanaburi are emerging as attractive alternatives. Popular activities include indulging in beach vacations, savoring authentic Thai cuisine, experiencing spa and wellness retreats, enjoying vibrant nightlife, and exploring historical landmarks.
